If you need to spin your tires for forward momentum, IE in snow going up a hill, if you are in mud, sand etc.

Also you might want to turn it off if you want to have some fun

I use mine all the time (05 Pilot ex-l) in the snow around town . . . it will help you get around corners better in snow instead of killing the power and leaving you "dead in the path" of that tractor trailer you were pulling out in frt of ! especially if you have snow tires ! lol It will also help on gravel roads so that you keep the power to the wheels when you need it . . . not when some engineer in japan thinks you need it . . . again ... lol

If you turn it off, isn't there a light somewhere that should show it is "OFF"?

Pages 62 and 240 of your owners manual tell you the answer, and YES, a "light" comes on when you turn it off.

hint: The Owner's Manual has an INDEX at the back which allows one to quickly find what they are looking for.

That's what I thought, but I don't seem to have a light that comes on when it's off. I see it when I turn on the car, but that's it. I will have to try again - maybe the sun was shinning in so I couldn't see it or sumthin'

I'm pretty sure a yellow triangle with an exclamation point will illuminate when you switch the VSA off :)

Yeah - I see that when I start the car. But I tried again this morning when it was dark out & the light never came on
Thoughts?

Are you sure that you're turning it off? You have to keep the button depressed for a few seconds. After which you will hear a beep and then see the exclamation pointed triangle.

Ah, well I never heard a "beep" - maybe I didn't hold it down long enough. I will try that out - thanks!
