Hi all,

I'm going to be moving into the CRV world in the near future, but still shopping.

Biggest concerns are the differences between the 97/98 models and the 99/00. I know the biggest change is the boost in horsepower and passenger armrest. What else should I be aware of ?

There are many good priced 97/98s around. But, I don't want to sell myself short and spent the next few years wishing a bought a 99/00.

I'm always relunctant to buy the first year of any model. Was anything changed between 97-98 ?

Any help would be appreciated...

thanks.

gb.

as far as I know, the difference is the addition of a clock on the dash in the 98 and the availibility of manual.....

ur not going to feel any difference with the power increase in a '99+ model...if the price is right, then get the one that you want.

I test drove both the 97 and my 2000. I got the 2000 for several reasons.
1. I like the all black interior of the 99-01 easier to keep clean.
2. I noticed the hp increase and after driving the 2000 was glad I did not get the 97.
3. The 97 I drove did have a clock.
4. Most CRV's will not come with a passenger side armrest, but I easily added mine for $45 bucks and 30 minutes work. (You can't put one on a 97 or 98.)

Personally I would go for a newer V.

Another good place for CR-Vince's facts page.
