I am looking to know if any of my fellow CRV'ers know what the factory oil pressure should be. I am in the process of adding two new gauges and when I did a test run for the pressure gauge it peaked and stayed there. The gauge I will be using goes to 100lb of pressure. I may be using the wrong sender (factory, just above the filter???) but I'm pretty sure it's the correct one. There is one located above that but I'm not totally sure. Thoughts...

Are you trying to use the factory preesure sensor with your aftermarket gauge? The factory sender is a closure output at a specific pressure to turn on the idiot light. You need to use the sender that came with the gauge.

That makes absolut' sense... Unfortunately the gauge did not come with a sender, but i will inquire into that.

I put a Tee into the factory port and then installed the factory sensor and my new sensor into that. There's not a lot of room to work and its a little tricky. Might help if you do it when you have drained the oil (and removed the filter)

shinjukumaster,
Where did you purchase the T and sender? What brand/manufacturer did you use?

You should be able to get the T fitting at any auto parts store that caters to hot rodders, or many hardware stores in the plumbing section.
Get the sender that matches your guage. What prond guage do you have.
If it is a aftermarket replacement guage you will need the OEM sender for the model of vehicle it is designed for.

Thank you all for your input and information. I have located and acquired the sender unit for my oil pressure gauge. Turns out the retail outfit I purchased the gauge from had forgotten to provide me with the sender that comes with each and every gauge sold. I will post pictures of the installed product as soon as the gauge pod arrives.

Do not tee off the block. The vibration has cause many tees w/the aftermarket senders to break. Run a hose to a tee on the firewall. Mount it securely there.
