Is it possible to install an aftermarket sunroof in a Pilot w/o a great deal of hassle or added expense? I'd love to hear from someone who has already done it.

The lack of a sun/moonroof on the Pilot is one of the reasons I am hesitating in buying one.

I drive an '03 CR-V and my wife drives a '98 Accord EX-V6. I'd like to trade the Accord on either an Element, which I would drive, or a Pilot, which she would drive. But a sun/moonroof is a must-have for me. I can live w/o leather and every power doohickey, but I gotta have a hole in the roof I can see the sky thru. (If you lived in Cleveland where sun and blue sky is something you don't see from Nov. until April you'd understand why you can never get enough of both).

yes its possible and my friend's pilot has it too i'm thinking of getting one but then but then the water channels on the roof might get screwed over.

Personally, I don't like sunroofs... I had one on my 89 Prelude Si and it was closed the majority of the time... I don't like the sun beating down on my head... gives me a headache... I like my shade...

But that's JMHO....

The question of aftermarket sunroofs for Pilots is now a moot point for me. I decided I wanted a real 4x4 so I bought a Sport Edition 4Runner (V8 model). I pick it up tomorrow morning.

Now we're going to sell our '98 Accord EX V6 and my wife will start driving the '03 CR-V that I've been driving. I get the 4Runner. <GRIN>

You made a good decison if you wanted a "real" 4x4. I'm sure you're gonna have fun with the 4Runner.

I agree 100% with Patrick... Actually, the 4Runner was on top of our list, but for the price we could only afford the 2WD version of the 4Runner... Doesn't make sense on getting a 2WD SUV.... Also, the amount of interior room in the Pilot was also a major selling point for our needs...

They must be overcharging you for 4Runners up there in Manitoba. I got a Sport Edition 4Runner w/ V-8, moonroof, JBL audio, rear spoiler, daytime running lights, floor mats and running boards for only $1K more than the MSRP on a Pilot EX w/ leather with no options. ($32,250).

I could have bought the V-8 SE-5 model with those options for less than $30K.

The only 4Runner that's really overpriced is the Limited, and they don't sell too many of those.

It may be possible that the Pilots are more affordable here than the 4Runners b/c the Pilot is manufactured in Canada, while the 4Runners are not (are they built in US or Japan?)...

Yeah, the 4Runners are all made in Japan. I think all of the body-on-frame Toyota trucks are made there. The unit body stuff like the Highlander is made in Kentucky.
