Traded my 2005 Pewter SE for a 2007 Glacier Blue EX last night. Since it was late (and dark) when I got home last night, did not have a chance to take any pics. If the sun comes out today, I will take some pics and post them. :D

Ok, as an owner of the new model and past, how do they compare for comfort, noise, build . . .

You got the EX and not the EX-L? Did they give you any price break off MSRP?

Did not really get any price breaks. The first monthly payment amount they quoted me (leasing) did not include the tax ($30-40). Told them if they could give me that rate including tax, it was a deal, so I guess I was able to drop the monthly payment around $30. My 2005 SE was the first leather interior car I've driven. I was not really that happy with leather (too hot in summer, too cold in winter), so I switched back to cloth. :)

Congratulations, I also bought a Glacier Blue EX last night! Traded in 02EX. The dealer told me he sold 5 CRVs the first day they were available.
The tires look HUGE compared to the ones on my 02. I have to get used to the emergency brake pedal between the foot rest and the brake pedal.
It's a much quieter ride than my 02. One thing I don't like is no hard copy of the maintenance schedule. Have to keep reading the maintenace minder system on the dash.
Good luck with your vehicle.

Glacier Blue seems to be the popular color. My dealer had 7 new CR-V's and 4 of them were Gla Blue! Here is a side view of my '07. More pics are on the Webshot gallery. Click on the "My Gallery" link to view them. :)

Congrats guys! I bought one but it won't be here for a couple of weeks! I wanted a color in the EX-L they had not received yet-I'm jealous you already have yours! I've been really impressed but it when test driving it-it was tought to even compare it to my 1997 CRV (nothing like it). I'm trading my Pilot in on this one.

You should get a Remote Auto Start. I used them all the time, summer or winter, East Coast, West Coast, Japan, etc (I made up Japan :P )

Hey mcbeevee, I don't want you to get scared but there is a (almost a 1" from this angle) small scratch just above the Rear Handle :(
Do you see it?
Was it there when you got the car from the dealer? If I were you I would take it back :(
Just zoom in and you'll see it :(

mcbeevee, great looking CRV!
Thanks for the pics. Two questions...
How about a couple of shots of what's under the rear panel. I'd really like to know what the spare looks like and if there's any storage space left under there.
Also, I'm curious if the glass in the rear passenger doors goes all of the way down.
Happy (NEW) CRV'n!

I like that Glacier Blue color. Congratulations! Now you people are making me wonder whether I should have waited! But, on the other hand, our budget only allowed for what we paid for our 2006 LX 2WD. Payments are $245 a month x 5 years. That's bad enough. So, I'll check what's new in maybe 10 or more years. Unlike my cell phones, it's a necessity to keep our cars around for as long as feasible, even if the newer models look tempting.
The photo looks like what I would expect my friend's blue Pacifica's offsping to resemble.

How does that new automatic shift lever feel? I like that compared to the one in my '06. And, what seat is the underseat storage bin under? How does that work? Is the cargo area the same size as the 2nd generation? Have you plugged in a MP3/WMA player yet? Is the 2007 actually lower than the 2ndGeneration? With the larger tires, it looks like it sits up higher like the Pacifica. And, for some reason, it looks shorter in length. Kinda stubby. Is that just an optical illusion because of the down sweep curve of the back side windows? How is that cargo shelf in back? So many questions! I better just go out and see for myself, huh?

Dragonfly,
If you're referring to the spare tire (grin) - it was a full size tire when I pulled up the back panel to look at it to see how much room was left. (not much).

The rear windows do not go all the way down (see pic). The spare is a "T155/90D17". There are a few nooks around the spare to store small stuff. The foam pads under the cover prevent you from putting any large objects over the tire. :)

The most important thing you can store on top of the spare tire is a couple cans of Fix a Flat. That way you may never have to use the spare at all. Yes, there is enough room for a couple of those cans. You can bet I'll soon have mine in there, just as soon as I make a trip to the store.

I like having the auto shifter in the middle...just feels more natural to me. The underseat storage bin is a small pull-out tray under the passenger seat. It is about half the size of the previous Gen2 tray, so not much room. Cargo area is about the same as Gen2, but all the extra storage areas in the rear door and under the floor are gone. :( Cargo shelf was not that big a deal to me...I have it laying on the floor. Getting an audio cable today for my mp3 player. Will test that out later! :)

mcbeevee has a T155/90D17 (with a steel wheel), which I assume stands for "Temporary". Are you saying you saw a regular full sized (diameter and width) tire when you looked?

Assuming you have to someday use the temp tire, will a full-sized (flat) tire fit in that well with the cover on top?

I looked at the well briefly but judging by the foam spacers I think you could put a full size in there. But we won't know for sure until someone actually places one in there. I would think all you have to do is remove the foam spacers.

Apparently, that is a no-no with the new TPMS system. The owner's manual states:
Never use a puncture-repairing agent in a flat tire. If used, you will have to replace the tire pressure sensor.

WOW - not that is some crushing news. So basically, u get a nail in the tire, you plug it for 10 bucks, u need to replace a sensor OR you have to buy a new tire at 100bucks lol - wow

The fog lights are controlled by a separate switch on the headlights stalk. They retail for $699, installed. Mine are not working at all right now, so I need to go back to the dealer next week and see what's up!

The spare is a full size diameter tire, but is only about half the width of the normal tires. The full size tire would fit in the well, but half of it would be above the well, so the cover will not go all the way down. :(

The normal tires are about 9" wide and the spare is about 5.5" wide. The foam spacers are only 2" deep, so I don't think the full size tire would allow the cargo cover to be flush. :(

There are two main ways of a system detecting a flat tire -- using the traction control system to detect the difference in rotation speeds (my MINI used this method), or have a battery-powered sensor inside the wheel that transmits pressure readings to the car (which is what it sounds like Honda is using).

Man, that's too bad, One can complain about the aesthetics of the old door mounted spare, but at least, if you're on vacation and loaded down with stuff, you don't have to unload to swap tires. Now the cover wont even fit over the flat. A better idea would have been to sling the temp UNDER the rear like on our old Quest. You might lose some clearance, but this new model isn't really the kind of vehicle that needs extra clearance.

You mentioned there being a tray under the Gen2 passenger seat? I don't have that in my car.
I do like the idea of that little storage area above the glove box having a cover on it in the 2007. I hesitate putting anything on it because it will just make my car look junky like my Civic started to look from time to time. I like to hide my junk. :D That's why I wish that fold-down tray in the middle of the front seats had a covered storage compartment instead of folding. I know, I can buy that extra...
Too bad they took out the little storage pockets in the cargo door. And, I do like having that space under the table for things I don't readily need. Nice to have it there, just in case.
Thanks for your reply and enjoy that car!

The underseat tray was in the early Gen2's (2002-2004). In 2005, they added extra airbag sensors under the passenger seat, so the tray went away in 2005/2006 models. :)

Congrats on your new purchase!
I agree on the awful nature of leather seats.
They take every bad aspect of vinyl seats...
- No breathability
- no lateral grip
- searing hot pain in the summer
- a hardened, frigid block in the winter
... and convince people they need them by using a more expensive material. I'll take cloth any day. And, after owning, renting, and driving a sampling of cars, I've found that Honda cloth seats tend to be some of the nicest in the lower-price range.

I hear ya. I drive quite a few cross country road trips, and while we now use the Mazda for the trips, I always liked the peace of mind I got in the CR-V. If I had a flat, I could simply switch out the spare and deal with the issue when I got back home.
If you get a flat on a long trip, where the hell are you supposed to put your flat tire in the new V? In your full cargo compartment? It doesn't sound like you could just stick the flat in place of the spare.
This issue is hardly exclusive to the CR-V. I see it in most new cars.

Traded the beige 05 cr-v for a black 07 LX AWD cr-v. got ~22600 OTD price w / mudguard.
The car is quieter overall, both the engine and the road noise. The sound from raising and lowering the windows reminds me of the accord. the new cr-v drive much more like a car than the previous gen, feels tighter. Pick-up also improved, but it could just be a new car comparing to a 2 year old, though the timing of gear change feels different, like a Civic or an accord. ABSOLUTELY love the telescoping steering wheel.
The interiors is very tight, very stylish. It looks like Honda took away the Sport in SUV. No longer do I see the ruggedness in the car, and in it's place left luxury and refinement. I know some will disagree, and others will simply not like the change, but I for one is very happy.
