Just drove a silver one-it had much more pick up than I imagined it would and the ride was smooth! I must admit I was impressed! Also, the "underbite" many have commented on was not NEAR as prevalent in person (IMO). There was not as much room in the back (cargo) area as I thought-then again, I've been driving a Pilot :?
I think it's going to do well! I have a decision to make!

I test drove a 2WD EX this evening. The quiet ride was what really impressed me. The only thing that bothered me was the lack of storage areas/cubby-holes. Both cd holders in the center console are gone, the well in the back is gone (spare tire now), and the rear door storage is gone, since it is a hatch. Guess I will have to carry less stuff around! :?

CollegeProf,
I've been reading your helpful comments in a number of threads, and I was hoping you could expand on your driving impressions. My priorities are a comfortable ride, low interior noise, and a higher driving position.
Can you please provide some additional feedback as to interior cabin noise around town, on rough road, on the highway, with the windows up and down, across highway expansion joints, etc. Please also tell me how the ride is -- firm? soft? Have you rolled over rough road or potholes? Gone over a curb or parking bumper? How does the nosie and ride compare to your Pilot?
Thanks in advance. Your feedback is immensely helpful to those of us still trying to decide...

Thanks! I'll try to be as much of assistance as possible-
I still do not have mine yet but have driven three CRVs at the dealership waiting patiently on mine! I personally would say the drive as "as quiet" as my Pilot, of course you are not up as high as in the Pilot and the seat in my Pilot is a bit higher and larger. My husband and I both were quite impressed though with the ride which was saying a great deal because we had been driving our Pilot which has a great ride! AND, (here's the best part) - my husband even made the comment he couldn't believe how much pick up the CRV had - this was something we were concerned about compared to the 6 cyl. Pilot. We obviously did not take the demo over any curbs or cut across the median while test driving (although we wanted to do so! I owned one of the first CRVs in 1997 and although I loved it and drove it to 160,000 with absolutely no trouble-I think this is going to be a cut above as far as comfort and road noise (lessened).
Hope this helped! :D

Thanks, Professor. By the way, I think this was the first time I got to give a professor a homework assignment.
Last night, I think I came down with CRV fever. It's all I think about. I am consumed with thoughts of CRV. I'm currently in a 2002 Acura RSX-S, and I'm sick of it. My car is loud, with much engine and tire noise, and the ride is absolutely punishing on anything other than fresh smooth asphalt. My car is also completely stock. I guess I reached that point in life where comfort and refinement and convenience mean more to me than horsepower. Oh, did I mention how I'm fed up with manual transmission? Blech!!!
I've been a Honda guy my whole life -- had a 79 Accord, 89 CRX, and my 02 RSX-S. I was seriously considering a Toyota RAV4 or Highlander but felt something was lacking with both. The CRV seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. I think I just need a test drive to seal the deal.
So thank you for your feedback. I hope you continue to provide detailed feedback once you get delivery.

We test drove the '07 CR-V about a week ago... we had passed on the last version about 2 years ago partly because of the noise factor, but that seems much improved. [I read that Honda used to stress MPG so much that their lighter bodies were noisy, which negates the benefit of a nice stereo!] The overall appearance and ambiance/feel is also more refined. Honestly, it has been over a month since we drove the RAV4, so will look at it again, but consensus seems to be that the interior feel is a bit cheesy by contrast. I am close to deciding on the CR-V for daughter #2's college car, which is amazing-- five new cars since '87 have been Toyota's [one '95 Windstar snuck in there cause we needed a child hauler]-- 3 Camry's ('87, '03, '05), a Sienna ('99), and an Avalon('99)... still drive 4 of them, and the '87 is in the garage-- no material trouble with any among them. For us to shift to a Honda speaks volumes.

Skooly,
My students will love that someone got me back for all the assignments I give them!
Yes, it is easy to get a bit enamored with the CRV isn't it! I've now opened my mind on another CRV color which means I might get mine sooner! :D
My friend says this CRV reminds her of her Lexus SUV -interesting. We keep comparing it to the Rav4 and (IMO) it's just a different feeling altogether once you're in the car.
Good luck with your decisions (Skooly and Raidencraig)!
Wow...I haven't driven the V yet but I've owned a couple before and didn't really need to be convinced that it drives well. It's hard not driving one but I thought I be a little crazy this time. I'll let you folks know my impression when I pick one up on Oct 16th.
Thanks Professor...your opinions mean a lot to me!

FYI, while driving my 07 CRV last Saturday, I rolled down the windows and did open the sunroof, suddently I noticed that the volume on the radio went up by itself then when I came to a stop, the wind noise got lower, so was the radio volume.
It have a noise reduction, just one of the many cool features besides:
