i test drived the rdx today as well as the 07 crv.. man i gota say handling is sweet on both cars, but the rdx, i took it 4 2 miles on a local highway, put the gas 2 the pedal nd boy i gota tell u smooth acceleration, nice exhaust sound... i feel inllove with tht car.. its sweet but i think they should have made an option without heated seats, moonroof, colored mrrors, i would have bought it 2day..

funny thing, after i test drived the rdx, i went 2 test drive the crv, it was cool, test drived the ex with the leather seats, sweet handling, but not 2 b compared with the rdx.. it will kick out the 2nd generation , so dont compare them togther..
after i waas done, i wanted 2 c how much my car b worth if i traded it in, its an 05 crv with 37210, kept pretty clean, interior nd exterior... i was shocked with he told me my car is worth 13000, i will try 2 sell it 4 like 16500 nd with my navigation system , i will try 2 put the price around the 18500, but the new crv, u cant take out the radio unit 2 replace it with a navigation system, its like the new civic, ur stuck with the stock head unit, ( atleast thts wht i was told). u guys think i should put 8gs on a new crv or bout 14 for the rdx? or keep my car..

rdx is averaging 11-14mpg per online discussion boards, edmunds.com etc. Altho i dont own one, i think that really puts a HORRIBLE mark on how cool of suv it is.

I drove it too, save urself the cash, there are better alternatives

Soccer-Sta,
I'm having the same dilemma with my Pilot! I have 100,000 miles on mine though. I'm beginning to wonder if I should just hang on to it because it's worth more to me than it is to trade it in! And....I still love it!
Tough decision-I love the new 07 CRV.

collegeproof.. keep the car. i saw 2005 pilot,4wd., leather seats, i think ex. 41,000 ks, nd it was 20000. the price went down from 33gs to 20gs so keep ur car dont trade it. nd i will think i will do the same.. altho i really want tht rdx

I drove one as well. It's a very, very nice vehicle. I loved the seats and the fit and finish were great...

After we got back to the dealership, the sales guy was showing me what you can get with the technology package. He scrolled past a screen that showed the mpg on the trip we just took - 10.6 mpg. I did step into the turbo a bit when merging but that was less than I expected.

If I felt more sure about getting at least 19 mpg I might consider it further. As it is, there is no apparent consensus on the expected mpg.

Soccer-STa,
Thanks-And mine is even the EX-L with the running boards, custom bumper, etc. When I found out on the Honda.com site (KBB) is was only worth $11.000-$12,000, I thought, "Hey, it's worth much more than that to me!" Still, the new car fever hits after I drove the new CRV today-I've got to think with my head - not my heart! AAGGHH!

Do you understand how hard it is to read this post? How about using to instead of 2, and for instead of 4. You may think it's cool, but let's go back to normal English. An occasional capital letter would be good too :?:

The funny thing with those gas mileage meters is they always start off with very poor numbers. From my understanding, it starts off at zero mpg, then as the car is driven, it averages out to a number that represents how much gas is consumed per mile. On my cars, I average below 20mpg over the life of the vehicle but on certain trips, my calculation is much higher. So, don't worry about what the thing says. However, having said that, it does represent how much you are averaging though...am I making sense here?

The RDX's engine and exhaust is very nice. I'm not sure sure about the price though. $38K is a lot to pay.

34k w/o tech package

goto the edmunds.com forum and u will see all the people that bought the RDX and what they have to say about the impact such poor gas mileage has made on their purchase. I dont believe they are going buy the digital meter, either, jsut averaging out the tank - i kno it improves with time, but the 11-15 range is unacceptable - very UN-HONDA like in terms of engineering im really surprised

%$# the RDX - buy the CRV - engineering is just as good, the interior is just as good, mpg is much MUCH better and the price is 8k less, cant go wrong with that. the new CRV is really slicked out, i like it, just wish it had more power and a different front end

mikey1981. wht bout the turbo??? 244 hp to the 166hp. thts 88hp besides acura got a better warranty. its a luxury car.. u got the crash test results.. I'd pick the rdx over the crv n e time but its pric nd the gas mileage kinda sucks on both cars compared to the rav 4 v6. it gets more thn the crv

yo man, the msrp price on the acura rdx in wesrtchester ny, is 32478. yea its a bit pricy compared to the crv ex which is around 24678( not exactly, off by couple of $)

the technology package is like 3-4 more gs.. well i have a navigation system pionner avic n2 on my crv, so i dont need the technology package with the rdx, but honda told me that my car is worth 13gs if i wanna trade it in.. id be basically financing 20gs to get the rdx.. thats isane .

your msrp is 32,478? wow!, price came down already. invoice on it now is a little over 30K. When i went to buy it, it was msrp 33,600 and every single GM said Acura put a lock on the selling price for a while, so i looked at different cars. If you could buy an RDX now for around 30, i would actually definately buy it over the CRV EX-L even with the reported bad gas mileage.

the turbo is nice, and the Super Handling AWD is rediculous and worth the extra money

actually if you're going to compare the RDX with the CRV, i would compare it to the AWD CRV EX-L. but then again, the RDX starts at 32k and is more upscale looking with few refinements than the CRV EX-L for 26k. 6k= turbo 240 hp, HID, Painted whole front and back bumpers, Mirror signals etc.

SoccerSta,
Well, I thought more (I guess) with my heart than my head and just bought the new 07 CRV today! They gave me $1,500 over KBB value for my Pilot! I was happy! I've only been getting 15.5 mpg with my Pilot and ready for better mpg! My husband loved the CRV after he drove it today!

mikey1981.. the cx7 looks sweet but can u go offroadin with it??

atelast you could do that a bit with the crv.. im guessing the cx-7 doesnt have that quality?

The CX7 is getting good reviews just about everywhere it's written up. Of course they kill it for the testosterone crowd by having a commercial showing it as a chick car. But it's definitely on the list as I go to replace my element. The new CRV is not on the list at all. I'd only go with a 4cyl if I could get a little luxury or speed out of it.

I drove the RDX 1 week after testing the 07 CR-V on the same road - Olympic view drive, and found it to be a very nice ride: handling was excellent, seat was very comfortable, and power is plenty when I needed to use it. It certainly outperforms CR-V in any way you'd want in driving dynamics. The CR-V handles very well too. I've heard people saying the seats in CR-V are not very comfortable for long trips (which I agree), and new owners of RDX really like its seats. The question is whether it's worth another $10K, if you want a daily commuter and rarely drive aggressively, and don't want suffer the mpg penalty.

Features wise, RDX is certainly much more upscale than the CR-V, with all the said features that I don't need to repeat here. The interior is excellent, however personally I don't like the aluminum trim (would rather have wood / fake or not), or the instrument cluster (the one on CR-V is cleaner). I'm a bit surprised that back seat space is tighter, with a smaller trunk. Rear seat is 60/40 split, vs. the 40-20-40 split in CR-V. No sun-glasses holder. So in terms of utility, not as good as the CR-V, and you might think twice before taking it on the dirt road (compared to CR-V).

Exterior wise, I like the CR-V rear better. RDX front isn't striking - could use some boldness from the new MDX.

I cant answer the off roading question because we havent had winter weather yet and an opportunity to test this things might.

What i will say is Edmunds compared it to the 07 Rav V6 and said the CX-7 outperformed it in almost every aspect, including its offroad abilities, which to me, means a TON.

If you are looking more upscale, like an RDX, it would be shooting yourself in the foot if you did not drive the CX-7 GT for a head on comparison
