If there's not already a hole in it from the factory there is no way that I would put one in it. Can you say leakage?

I would disagree with a DIY installation, but a professional installer will warranty the product against leakage (as long as you own it). Mine is the largest moonroof available and after two years I am leak free. I live in Seattle, let me tell you about rain.

a lot of dealers use aftermarket sunroof installers for their cars that dont offer a factory Sunroof. In these cases they Cover the warranty for you.leakage shouldn't be a problem.

I had an after-market installer do the installation in my 2001 CR-V EX, it was the largest moonroof available that would fit in the available space. The shop did a fantastic job with the installation and while they were in there, and the headliner was out, I also had them install an working FUBA antenna. The moonroof has been in for two years and the only time my interior has ever gotten wet was when I, inadvertantly, left the roof open, oops. I do not garage my V and I live in one of the wettest areas in the US so I would say that you would be safe with an after-market installation. Just be sure that the installer is certified and offers a comprehensive warranty.

the sunroof and new headliner etc. was $1200 (USD) and the antenna was another $150. The controls for the moonroof are mounted in the overhead map lights.

@topgun

Try ziebart. They installed a moon roof in my friend's car in only 5 hrs. No leak guarantee... P35,000 I think. I might have one installed in my V2

Great looking CR-V! I was curious as the effectiveness of the visor on your sunroof? On my Accord I had the factory visor installed on the roof and while it did a job (not letting the air buffet into in the car), it was a real pain to clean around it.
