Someone posted on another thread, but wrong sub forum. Easily missed.
Here are probably 100 pics of exterior and interior, very detailed. Yes there is a center folding tray in some models....
No change to the grill I am afraid!
The 3rd gen has some decent angles, but a few angles are just absolutely horrid.

I'll be back.

This rear view is even worse than the front end:

I'm not sure but it (the front end) looks like it's going to cut thru the air better as well as putting the crumple zone a little further out from the engine bay. It's definitely a smoother front end.

As I said elsewhere, the "Grouper look" takes a bit of getting used to.

i suspect an optional front bumper design would soon be offered if not by honda - by somebody else
since a lot of people dislike the original bumper that would be a seriously profitable business
and its very simple to do it actually - all they have to do is push back that front lip and diminish the grin

Thanks for posting that link to those pics. I like the interior. Especially the leather seats and the dash with the navigation pkg. I don't like the exterior and from some angles it looks like the buick rendezvous. I'll have to check it out in person when they show up on the dealer's lots.

These are the best pics so far!!
I have to say the the front is something difficult to describe.....
That plastic cover under the bumper is giving it a even cheaper look...copared to the interior....
I really to not know who has been the jap designer that did this "thing"!!!
I just see this car in one colour: Nighthawk Black!!! Maybe because it will cover a look of things......
Let's wait and see it in real....

Ooh, I love the new front end they gave us! Oh wait, no I don't, because it's still the same freakish epitome of ugly!
The LX front, with its black accents looks worlds better then the chromed out EX.

I must say though, I really do love the interior. It's very "traditional CR-V", but with a much more sporty look. And those seats look friggin COMFY!

good job Honda didn't build the channel tunnel.....the two halves would have never met in the middle. This car was top of my list to buy but now seeing a shot straight on from the front has deflated me a bit...I was warming to the exterior styling....just looks like 2 teams were involved..one designed the bottom half and the other the top half, but they never traded dimensions..perhaps one was working in metric and the other imperial....hey maybe NASA had something to do with it

I am not generally a fan of the darker colours due to the difficulty of keeping them clean but the navy blue one (at least that what my monitor shows) shown by Car & Driver looks pretty good.
Yes the front end looks like a committee design job but the inherent Honda quality and my own CRV experience (318,000 Kms on my 1997) means that I just cannot dismiss this new one out of hand.
I like the back door, the 5 speed tranny and the interior but I wish it had more horsepower, fold flat 2nd row seats and a better front end. I am also coming aaround to the view that sport cute crossovers (Ford Edge, 2007 Outlander, and Mazda CX-7, for example) are moving away from the trucklet look such that in two or three years the RAV4 will be an anomaly (prediction: RAV4 will switch to the Euro rear door design w/o the tire within 2 years).
The new CRV design is one that I will want to see in person before I will commit and, as always, price will be a decisive factor, particularly if Honda cannot bring this to market at a price less than the RAV4 Limited or V6 Sport.

I don't mind the direct side view, but the rest...yikes.
I'm 90% sure I'll be getting the RAV. If the cr-v gets a gold rating from iihs I might be swayed.
The RAV seems to be more utilitarian. What's up with the stupid shelf lip in the 07 cr-v?

Wow Car & Driver took a lot of pictures. All colors seem to have their 'moment' depending on the angle to the extent it would be a tough choice if I had to choose a favorite. Darker colors seem to hide the front better.
The front needs works Honda, hopefully you'll get it right for the 2009 MMC, please? The rest of the CRV looks really great. Some changes I could do without like the dual deck cargo lid but other changes clearly move the CRV up a notch or two. If it weren't for the front end this would be the top-level 4cyl compact SUV.

Hi Guys,
The only colour for CRV Gen3 is the Nighthawk Black. It covers the front i am sure about that.
I agree with AoS saying that the Euro version looks much better than the NA model
I will have 45000 km (30000 miles) at the end of this year on my 01/2006 Crv 2.2 icdti.
I really do not know what to do since I have to change my car every 3 years and in this case with the new model release I do not what my Gen2 to loose a to much value.....
These first pic are not good news but I have time to see and try the beast...

Here's what my thinking is regarding the new CRV. I agree with most of the posts that the exterior especially the front bumper is not the best stuff out ther. However, the bright side is the new CRV comes with a wonderful interior that looks sporty, comfortable, and even upscale.
As the owner, most of your time will be spent inside your own car, which means that the interior should be far more important. Any exterior - bad or good - will go away as time goes by. After a while, you won't even notice it anymore. For instance, lots of people screamed at Honda when they redesigned the Accord, but nowadays it looks like any other car on the street.
Honestly speaking, I did not like the look of the last CRV either. But I've gotten used to it.
Just my 2 cents.

This looks like a upper part of 05 Honda Pilot [smaller version] grafted to that hideous lower part. See the grill and the head lights similarities with the 05 Pilot.

So far not too bad. In all the photos from Car & Driver, I've yet to see a roof rack. Did Honda do away with that for 2007? Maybe an option! Will have to wait and see.

I received my car and driver magazine on wednesday and had a chance to read through it. My impression is that the author really didn't think too much of the new crv, in car enthusiast terms. He mentioned that it is a 'cool mom mobile' and that is what the project designer was trying to appeal to, cool moms. He also mentioned that appearance-wise it is basically a soft duffle bag on wheels. Honda stuck with their basic formula of fantastic reliability, nice interior and no drastic exterior styling risks. Reading between the lines it is not high praise for the re-design.

the 07 doesn't look as bad as everyone feared. I am leery of the interior door handles. That cutsey round shape looks like the same irritating style that i found in the rental 2006 Ford Exploder.
Because of massive storms I found myself driving that boat from Savannah, GA to the 'Ville this spring. That damn handle bothered my knee the whole trip.
Since I have my 2006 V, I doubt I'll even have to worry.

Hi all, I just bought an 06 EX V Silver Moss on Tue. I'm new to the site and after seeing these pics I think I like the 2nd gen V more than the 3rd Gen. I know there's been alot of neg. feedback about the front grill, but who knows, maybe they'll make a front-end mask that will cover it!

When I carpooled the last couple of years, my carpool buddy and I would check to see the driver of CR-Vs stuck in traffic. More than 80% of the time, it would be a mid-age lady. Only once or twice did I spot a hot looking female driver.

I think I've seen one other male driver in a CR-V... ever.
I got it as a hand me down from my wife, in a way. She wanted soemething with more seats, I needed something that was NOT rear wheel drive (icy roads). Her getting the Mazda5 and me taking the CR-V just made the most sense. Since I only put around 6000 miles/year on a car (my RWD truck was 3 years old with 18,700 miles) I ccould easily drive a 2001 CR-V for a decade without any significant wear.
