Rear gate gas spring

Does anyone know any aftermarket gas spring/open stay can fit in HRV reargate? One of mine becomes faulty, with oil leaking. The door is so heavy now, have to hold it with one hand while loading. painful:( The original one is Showa, can't find his dealer in Australia. The genuine one from Honda dealer will cost AU$390 ........

You didn't say what year your V is but I think I'd try the junk yards for a used one. Good luck.

Good thinking. Ring the Honda wreckers in Melbourne and you are bound to find one.

Thanks guys. :wink: I've had it replaced by a custom made strut from www.struts.com.au. It works perfect like before. It cost me $90, reasonable enough considering it's customized and on-site service.
