Here are quotes from another forum:
The Front End of the U.S. Version of the 2007 CR-V 'Will Not Look' like the pictures that were taken in Canada and a few cities in the U.S.,the ones that are posted on the internet! Those Pictures are Versions for European Markets! The Version we will be getting will be 'Exclusive' to North America! The rest of the vehicle will be basically the same except for a few minor differences in (17In.Rim Styles+Tires, Outside Mirrors, U.S. Mandates, and a few Interior Changes and Features)! Each dealer will be Allocated One EX-L Navigation when the fleet arrives Thursday September 14th! The Front End is a 'Sharper' Updated Version of the Honda Pilot!!!
The following information was discussed at a training seminar I attended for the new CR-V:Honda tested the waters with the design of the new 3rd generation CR-V! The 1st and 2nd generation models were basically the same around the world! Japanese designers came up with a concept that would sell well in their home turf and Europe but Honda of America didn't quite fit the bill! The Biggest problem they first had to tackle was SIZE! Americans always want BIGGER Vehicles, while Japan and some parts of Europe prefer smaller ones! Unfortunately, due to rising manufacturing costs, the larger version planned exclusively for North America was scrapped! Therefore the new CR-V will be the same size around the world! Honda of America realized they had lost the first battle, but there was no way they were going to loose the battle for 'Design Control'!!! Honda of America realized this new 'Front End Design' would 'BOMB' over here! To Prove their point, they allowed the Asian and European models to be tested in select cities in the U.S. and Canada solely for the purpose of exposure!!!'EVERBODY' who responded 'NEGATIVELY' over the internet on the Front End Design over various web-sites helped Honda of America win their case!!!! ALL of YOU HELPED JUSTIFY the additional costs to RETOOL, REDESIGN and MANUFACTURE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FRONT END for the U.S. and Canadian Markets!!!!

They RETOOLED, REDESIGNED and MANUFACTURED A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FRONT END since the spy photos showed up just over a month ago? Hmmm..... Maybe they just happened to have one just sittin' around..

Did they also retool , redesign, and manufacture a couple more inches of ground clearance?

This sounds a lot like salesman talk to me. I don't see how Honda could redo a front end in one month. And, I don't think any carmaker yet would be fickle enough to let the internet control their designs, especially Honda.

It could just be a bumper for a different market :) Kind of like what they did with the 1st gen. Euro bumper was different than ours....

A different bumper is one thing, but the quote says "retool, redesign, and manufacture a completely different front end". I smell a salesman on our site.

I smell a salesman on our site.
Since I just bought my V and keep my vehicles for 10 years or more, perhaps he can give me the inside scoop on what the 2016 models will look like.
(and what's with all the exclamation! marks!!)
I smell a salesman on our site.
I doubt that a salesman could smell that bad.

I don't 'THINK' I believe 'what he's talking' ABOUT!!!
It all seems a little too perfect. All of a sudden the turd on wheels that is the '07 CR-V is going to make a big turnaround with only a few weeks to go until release? I dunno...

There have to be folks at the distributor level who have better info and hopefully pictures of this elusive thing.
As much as I prefer the photoshoped noses on the ones done here over the spy ones taken in Canada, I doubt Honda really cares or would be that quick to modify the snout. I can't see how anyone ever found that spy pic one attractive during the design phase.

I met the single girl for drinks at Taco Mac on the way home tonight. After four or five beers, she told me the new CR-V is going to have a five cylinder engine with 185 horsepower.

It's not a her it's spam. Larger forums get these messages all the time. The admin on some other forums post up the spammers email address a couple hundred times so that spam bots will pick up the email address and spam the spammers inbox. Most sites have bots going through them all the time searching for email addresses to spam.

I don't even remember...
It will be the same grille all over. The Element is ugly looking and people still buy it.
Honda can probably do a refreshing in a couple of years. It must be the same designer for the current gen of Accord and Civic.
I'd say buy a dark colored '07 - then the unnecessary lower grille won't be as noticeable.
