I thought I would let people know what the dealer said to me recently about the 07. BTW, your forums have been excellent. Thanks for the great resource.

I just bought a 2006 Nighthawk black CR-V to get one before this new model. I was interested in the 07 at first, and the dealer promised me he could have one in for me at the end of August. Whether he was just being an idiot and promising me things that he couldn't, I don't know. But he claimed that with the same features I had on mine the base price has gone up 600 dollars. He said honda was being unusually silent about the new model year. Just thought I would let you guys know.

I'm excited about my new 06 though. They are finishing up on the options and stuff tomorrow morning. I should have it by the afternoon. 2" less of clearance just doesn't appeal to me, especially since the exhaust assembly on our '05 SE pewter pearl hangs down quite a bit and looks mighty vulnerable down there.

The "rumored and speculated" date the CR-V's will be at the dealers is mid-September. :)

He was being a salesman, and he was successful. Sold you a vehicle, didn't he? That's what their job is.

As long as you are happy with that CRV since you are the one that have to live with it, it is OK.
I convinced my Godparents not to buy a 2006 CRV-LX for $19K out the door (except taxes) because the new model was coming out. I explained to them that around this time next year, they would feel like they be driving an old model.
I just show them pictures of the new 2007 CRV and they love it.
Me, I need a SUV too but I am waiting for the 2007 CRV to see it in person so I can make my final judgement.
I was never concern about the looks on the new CRV model and to me it looks great.
I have a problem with the Ground Clearance (about 6" instead of 8") and the cargo space being too small. I already drove test the Acura RDX since both cars will share the same Civic platform and was not impressed with the Size, Height or Crago Space.

I also got one of those salesman last month at a Honda dealership in Boulder CO, he assure me that the 2007 CRV model was going to look like the 2006. I did show me the spy pictures and he admited he didn't know.

Check out the post that I place about Salesman

He didn't sell me the 2007?

I already knew I was going to get a CR-V, it was just the model year that was the question. I'm well aware of salesman tactics and shady buisiness. No offence to any salesmen on the forums. Honda dealers do tend to be a lot less pushy, at least in my experience.

The #1 rule in retail sales: Sell what you have in stock. If you take orders you never know if the customer will cancel.
