Hi guys,
i am rather new to this forum.. i am driving a 2003CRV with black interior from KM. i kinda feel that the interior material is inferior. it feels cheap and prone to scratches.. do you all feel the same?
the rubbery plastic dash material is quite sticky to touch and once scratched, the mark is rather prominent.
i am aware of the BMW C1 scooter also have such problem. infact, they are replacing it... will honda do anything about this?
hi, i think the dash might have been oiled or something? cos mine dun have this problem. there's perhaps a bit too much plastics ard, and scuff marks are hard to remove. but overall, it seems sturdy enuff :) my opinion.
Actually... I kinda like the interior. Definitely looks better than having fake wood panels around! looks so cheap! just check out the Camrys, Corollas and even the new Accords!!
I dun have much problem like scratches.... light scuff marks at the lower door panel is quite inevitable... sure kena one! hiazz..
And bro dog_toothed... if KM/Honda replaces it! U must be one damn lucky fellow... more lucky than kena 4D!!!

What can I say ... what you pay is what you get ...
I guess most of the Jap cars are like this one unless it is a toyota made Luxury Export to US (LEXUS) ...
Learn to like it ... there are worst out there !
Hi Dog_toothed,
Though mine is Brown interior, cannot escape too.
Will you ask KM if there is any remedy? Else I will try to ask them during my next servicing. Keep us posted if they reply.

hi,
hear that the new face lift CRV will have HID as standard and also come with a six speaker layout.
Does anyone know where the last 2 speakers sitted. If it on the rear door panel. This mean we can replace our current panel to the new one to house the additional speaker.
Any got pic. of the new CRV layout.

surprised nobody mentioned the carpet - been planning to replace it for a quality item as soon as I can.

Hi,
Just collected my CR-V from KM yesterday (Yay! :D ). I think the dashboard has been wiped with one of those grooming solutions (oil?). Had a "scratch" that I could polish away with a bit of careful rubbing.
shinjukumaster, I had bought a set of floor mats from X (MaxDax), which I also collected yesterday right after I got the V. Very good stuff. It seems very similar to the 3M branded floor mats. Perhaps they are contract manufactured? Anyway, the mats are rubber-backed with the twirly hairs in a rubbery material, just like 3M. Edges are hemmed with a nylon webbing-like material, and the whole set fits very precisely.
The mats actually cover a bit more area than the stock mats, including the infamous bare patch under the accelerator, and the area around the base of the centre part of the dashboard. Very dark grey, they match the interior colour well. I've installed them on top of the existing mats (not replacing), to make cleaning easier, plus act as extra noise damping.
There are five pieces: Front left, Front right, Front centre, one long piece for the entire rear floor including the part between the front seats and the floor below the front seats, and finally the boot. Boot piece even has the slits for the floor-mounted D-rings. Great stuff and very happy with them.

hi,
I actually brought a 3M type mat. The installer told me it a ODM type without the 3M logo. It feel the same as 3M type and the thickness is also the same. It come in roll form and I got them to cut to 2 pcs. A full pcs for the front and a full pcs for the rear. So the rear pcs will not be like 3 pcs type and move around.
