SH-AWD = Super Handling All Wheel Drive

Honda will give the CR-V its SH-AWD four-wheel drive setup, which gives automatic torque distribution between the left and right wheels as well as between the front and rear axles.

Where did you get that from?

I don't understand where Honda wants to go :?:
I'm not saying it is a bad thing but this will certainly make the CR-V more expensive and it will compete directly with the RDX.

I don't know...they are sure about the new AWD, but are not sure about the hatchback which is clearly visible in the photo! :?

The CR-V pictured here seems to have a hatchback-style tailgate

Racoon - Rumors, speculation, and wishful thinking.

:) Yeah! the Racoon mantra returns. I still have a lot of wishful thinking as far as the 07 CRV is concerned...

I am pretty sure that during Car and Driver's review of the RDX, they specifically stated that the new CR-V will NOT have the RDX's all-drive system.

I wouldn't be surprised if the new V got the Pilot and Ridgeline's VTM-4WD system, but I'm still betting on another incarnation of RT4WD.

I don't think they would have updated the RT4WD for the 2005 model to drop it 2 years later :?:

I agree with you. I'm just saying VTM-4WD is more likely than SH-AWD.

I'd much rather have VTM-4 than RT4WD. I just want something that I can lock! :)

I think it will be VTM. The old system updated or not does not standup against the systems by Toyota and Nissan. The SH option seems unlikely as it appears to be an Acura only technology... at least for a while longer.

I sure hope not. What would be the point of that?

From what I understand (from driving the RDX and a video over on vtec.net), you really need to change your driving style a bit to benefit from the SH_AWD. You need to drive a bit more aggressively (read: stupidly for day to day driving) to get any benefit from the SH-AWD.

To me, that has no value whatsoever to the average driver

I just want something that I can lock! :)

that's an easy one: ask santa for a padlock.
