Hello,

Any other CR-V 2.2 i-CTDI owner out there?

My V went to the 40.000km service last week and my dealer did update the ECU to prevent some problems with the EGR valve. Since then, I feel like I've lost some power/torque :(

Would be good to share experience with other owners.

I've not a clue what they might have done but do wish they sold your CRV in the USA as it'd be in my garage!!

Do you have a photo link for your V? Is it like the USA's CRV-SE or what?
They'd certainly sell more of them in the USA if they had a decent oil burner to put in them.

Here it is: http://www.hondasuv.com/stg/viewtopic.php?t=8940

We have 3 trim levels in Europe:
- LS
- ES (like mine)
- EX (or Executive)

I think the SE is close to the EX although we have some extra on the ES model already (like the fog lights and headlight washers) that you don't have on the SE.

I think the petrol cars still have EGR valves but they don't cause as much problems as they do on diesel cars.

It's quite strange because the Accord i-CTDI doesn't seem to be affected but the CR-V and FR-V do because the EGR system was modified

aos - you just have to wait until the ecu sets itself according to your driving again

That's interesting. Does it mean that the ECU does learn about your driving style? Any idea how long it takes? I've done ~400km since the update.

yes it does, i have no idea how long does it take but it must be shorter than an oil change cycle
you just drive like you are used to and if it doesnt change in that time maybe all it has to do with the software update then... :|

I called my dealer earlier today and they said that this update is in fact only a temporary one ... until they find the final solution to the EGR problem

this may be a bit late but lots of people have the same problem on the diesel...Honda probably hiding something.

Thanks for the link.

Just called my dealer asking for some news about the new EGR valve and ECU update ... answer: not before October (I was told end of August previously)

Strange :?

Did the ECU update go with a new EGR valve or was it just the ECU update?

The recall to change the EGR valve on diesel CR-V's and FR-V's should start in January 2007 8)
