I drove 3hrs for Connecticut to Englishtown NJ for the Northeast Honda/Acura meet. It started about 4 – 5 hrs late due to the weather. For miles all you could see was Honda and Acura Enthusiast. There was even a bold, proud V owner on the track in bracket racing. However there were only two Honda CR-V’s in the Car show. They were both G1s. I was not really satisfied with the representation. There was 1 purple (looks like Ex with painted bumpers and moldings) and the Grey CR-V with the body kit belonging to of one of members of the Hondasuv.com. The purple CR-V had wicked sound system but that is the only good thing I could say. The Purple V had no side panels in the back, his roof rack was taken off but the mounts were still very visible and dirty and numerous amount of workmanship flaws. Maybe I am being too critical but I feel if you are going to show off your car you must be 1. Heads above the rest and 2. Almost flawless. I really felt like going into the parking lot and entering my V. The grey V was much better but still not up to par of a show car. I am so glad that I had a chance to see those Vs up close. On the Net all cars look good but up close and personal that’s another story. Guys to tell you the truth, if they were both for sale, the purple one if he left his sound system in, I would buy for 5Gs and the grey with body kit 10Gs.

My first car show entering with my daily driver and won 2nd place at the suv category. I lost to a fellow honda suv member with a honda element. Boombox is his member name, congratulations!! Hey AnuCrv why didn't you enter the show??? I also was not happy with the representation. I agree with you about my car not being car show status, but its hard when used every day for my daily commute. I live and drive in the concrete jungle nyc and it takes a beating. When compared to others who trailer their car in or who bring their weekend car my beautiful and luxurios v could hold its own. Now apoligize to my car you hurt its feelings.lol :( . Anucrv maybe on the next honda day we could meet and race each other! I would have liked to meet you but I guess next time.

Hey Gconjr. i apologize but y did u loose that Element. I saw the element and it was just an element. yea it had on rims and running boards bu that was it. That's it next year i will enter. I really didn't feel that my truck was show ready. not only that, it was drizzling on my way down down so my V was very clean. What were the judges looking for? And about that race. Are You sure u want to do that? I Don't like to embrass fellow hondasuv members :D But if you insist i going to have to do it for connecticut and take down the newyorker

actually boombox's element looks real good....he posted a pic on this site and I notice its the way he filled the wheel wells with those 5zigen rims

I guess judges wanted to see something different for a change....I mean the only body kit for the 1 gen V is basically the kits from Mugen or the like...its a nice kit but I bet there are a number of CR-Vs owner across US that entered their V with that kit

Anucrv I don't know exactly what the judges are looking for. The judge looked at my car fairly quickly and as I tried to explain the rare jdm stuff I had he seemed bothered so I left him alone. As of now I'm trying to get as much of jdm & j spec parts for my v. My v engine bay was dressed with billet, basic bolt on perfomance parts, colored hoses,etc...I don't know if you had a chance to look at it. I don't have any pics posted yet. As for the race.. is your v a 1st gen? Its only fair but if its a 2nd gen I'll say "BRING IT ON". Maybe we could stand out like that green v owner that drag raced.lol

Thats my V in the Avatar 1st gen just like yours. I am lover of the G1s. i think they are much better looking. I actually intentionally bought a G1 eventhough there were G2s available. The G2s have too many unpainted parts. I HATE THAT. I miss the power though. and Vigor 25 you are correct. The wheel wells of th element were filled nicely. but if i knew the judges were only looking for that, i would have entered. hell my wheel wells are filled nicely too. But i just don't feeel my CRV looks spectucalar enough for a car show. HOWEVER, gconjr i accept your challenge  (I hope for my sake yours is an Automatic too). i was going to show my engine but that might scare you. I enlarged my avatar for you. i did some slight modifications to the exterior since this picture was taken a almost a year ago. but nothing major like abody kit or different wheels. but from now its engine modification time, getting ready for you :P

She's a beaut!! I like the first gen also..don't care much about the 2nd gen. Weird tail light design, no bumper, emergency, brake handle, etc....thats just my opinion. I do like the new hp & the i-vtec engine to bad no v-tec was available for 1st gen. My engine bay was a nightmare until I decided to clean it by hand. I used car wash soap, toothbrush, paintbrush, and cotton towels. Rinse lightly over the ignition system or you will have problems starting your car. My advise to you would be save your money on cosmetics and concentrate on performance. You could have a sleeper and not worry about theft. My v is an auto too I'll keep my eye on the next honda day can't wait.

Here is my engine bayBefore i start my My NEW project 'beat gconjr' I agree with you though. i decided a while bk that i did enough to the exterior. now its time for the engine to live up to the exterior. BTW on my way back to CT, I smoked a Gen2 who was weaving in out of trafic trying to lose me. I let him go. Then met up with him again when the traffic slowed as soon as the traffic cleard he took off. I ran him down and passed him. He drove slowly and carefully from then on. I waited for him to catch me up but i think i took away his interest.
 'GCONJR BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID'
