This is from autoweek this morning:
Honda’s next-generation CR-V, the economy-minded sibling to the re-created Acura RDX, arrives this September as a 2007 model. Acura’s RDX, shown in near-production form at Detroit in January, arrives this summer just ahead of the CR-V.
While RDX gets a turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four capable of 240 to 250 hp, CR-V makes do with the normally aspirated engine that gets a slight boost in power to 170 hp. A major change for the CR-V, as shown in these spy photos, is that the spare tire is no longer mounted outside on the tailgate. This allows the CR-V to have a liftgate design instead of a swinging door.

Nope, that's a new photochopped version of the one with all the masking.

hmmm, I'm not nuts about it. I think I'll stick with my 06.
This "new" one seems to look like the Vibe/matrix. It looks like it lost a lot of character.

Looking at this picture, I'm glad I didn't wait to get the 2007 model.

That's not true! I only think that of the ones that obviously are modified.

Just wondering what makes you think so. What makes it obvious? Give me clue. What do you look for? Thks.

Pixelation and or jagged lines around details. Or seeing a previously posted picture that was identical, except that the new one is missing all the masking.
In this case, if you download the picture, open it with a photo editor, and zoom in on the headlights you can see textures on the headlights that look like tape where they should be smooth glass/plastic. There's still tape in other places on the image (grill, door handles, d pillar).
But hey, it's just my opinion.

Note the lack of detail aroud the edge of this headlamp. It is jagged and not flush like it should be. This reeks of shoppism. It is even more dramatic on the passenger's side.

 well if someone wanted to "photochop" it he would have known better
racoon - please post that "previously posted picture that was identical, except that the new one is missing all the masking"

Nope, look at the other side of the car...the fenders are flared out more than previous generations.

I say it's legit... the tape is to cover up what they don't want us to see

That is it - a closer inspection shows a matted black tape on the outer edges of the light. That would explain the jagged edge look on the passenger's side but still not the driver's side where the pixels don't match up.

I am wondering if 4hondaowner has actually seen the real deal?
Were you one of the few who have seen it?
I don't care too much for what I am hearing, it sounds like the new CRV will be a bit smaller in some key areas and less off road worthy....it also sounds like someday (when?) Honda is planning on a medium sized SUV in between the smaller CRV and Pilot.....
:(
I wish Honda had more trucks and SUVs....a smaller less expensive truck with double cab and such and a mid-size SUV ie a 'Honda Highlander' would be nice.....

I have not seen the real deal and I ran across this thread today at work (I was not happy to be there). Reaction my me, (The opinions expressed are solely of the writer) were quick. I'm sure none of us will be disappointed once the 2007's come out. I'm sure it won't have a V-6, the Pilot has that. The time is near, we must be exercise some patience...
