Does a standard license plate frame fit on the front bumper plate holder? It seems the plate fits inside the holder, which I thought might make it difficult to put a frame over the holder? I just got an E frame on Ebay and was looking to have it on the front and back.

I'm surprised your Element didn't come w/a license plate frame w/the dealer's info/advert all over it. I'm glad that's all my dealer did because I HATE their stickies or emblems on the body.
I replaced my frames with simple black ones from Target, so yes, a standard frame does fit:

Awesome. Yes my F*&%ing dealer did put their ad frame on the back. I asked them not to put the emblem on, which they did. It seemed most dealers around here had stopped doing that. I think they started again. I had them remove the emblem. They have chrome, stainless steel and black "Element" frames on Ebay for $12 I think. I got the black for the rear and I will for the front. Thanks for your help! Ok, one last question. The screws for the front are different for the back right? Why is that? I think I needed a screwdriver for the front and a pliars for the back. I think they make plastic screws for the plates don't they? It looks like you might have them on yours? Do the plastic ones fit the front and back or which one? My great dealer didn't add the goo to the screws so that over time they won't seize. People here might want to check to be sure. Just one more thing I didn't like about the dealer and that is something I might not have noticed.

I used a screw driver for all 4 fasteners on the plates, both front and back. I think they may have used some fasteners with hex heads that are phillips-slotted, but can't remember (too early, no coffee yet, etc).
Regardless, on do know that on my E I didn't use pliers at all, just a fat phillips driver.

You're right about that. I have those on the front. I wonder how I got these other ones on the back?

Thank goodness my dealer doesn't stick anything on their vehicles. They did have their dealer info on the licence plate frames, which is fine with me. I've replaced 'em with my beloved Chicago Cubs in front and Da' Bears in the rear.
Why don't we have a contest to see who has the best frames? I bet that would be interesting...
