The Control Unit for the Keyless Entry system fried.

I have been trying to find a replacement, but have had no luck. I do not want to pay the dealer $250.00 for the part alone.

I started having electrical problems (intermittant dead battery, door locks not working, clock display out, etc.), and the dealer charged me $600 for a new alternator, then a new battery (when it would no longer hold a charge). I also had to have a new starter installed.

When the problems continued, they took the Control Unit out of the driver's side door. The circuit board is shorted and burnt.

Since removing the Control Unit, everything is working except door locks and clock.

Info on control unit:
FCC ID: E4EG8DK
CANADA: 850 102 301A
CANADA: 210
G8D-452H-B

38380-S10-A010-M1
CONTL UNIT DR&T/G LOCK&KEYLESS
OMRON

Does anyone know where I can order this control unit, or salvage yards that would have them, and ship to other states?

Thanks

skyout.. he needs the electronic control unit that is located behind the dash...

Without knowing where you live (could be anywhere in the world) we can't be a whole lot of help though. We also need to know what year and model of CR-V you have.

He has a '98. I thought the Gen 1's were in the door, unlike the Gen 2's.

they took the Control Unit out of the driver's side door.

Hi All,

My CRV is a 1998, 4WD EX 4 Speed Automatic.

The control unit is from the driver's door.

I am in WV.

Thanks for your help so far.

I'd say give the good folks at San Leandro Honda a call at:

phone 1-877-265-2997

Or wait until Curly or Racoon find this post - or give either a PM.

Good luck and keep us posted.

AH HA! I looked earlier but couldn't find it. Once I saw the identification on the picture I was able to find it in the printed copy of the parts manual, and then found it on San Leandro Honda Parts (http://www.slhondaparts.com).

The only odd thing is the part number is for a 1997, not a 1998. It's #25 in the image.

1998 CR-V part number:
38380-S10-A02 CONTROL UNIT, DOOR & TRUNK LOCK KEYLESS $190.35 ($235 list)

1997 CR-V Part number:
38380-S10-A01 CONTROL UNIT, DOOR & TRUNK LOCK KEYLESS $190.35 ($235 list)

http://www.slhondaparts.com/images/PCI/13S100/005/2.jpg

The part number for a 1999-2001 is different than either of the above, but the same for all three years (38380-S10-A03).

Good job, Rac. :D

BROWSE > CR-V > 1998 > 5DR EX > 4ATKA > ELECTRICAL / EXHAUST / HEATER / FUEL > COMBINATION SWITCH

Thought I'd give the OP a heads up on how to find it. Even after you posted the pic I had a good time searching for it. lol

Thanks guys. This has been very helpful. I think at around $200 plus shipping, I may need learn to live without power locks for a while.

I was surprised to find that my tailgate switch still works. I thought the same computer would control the doors and the tailgate.

I just had wheel bearings installed, alignment done, and 4 new tires. My little Silver V is running smooooth now.

After sending my photos to the forum, I installed Verizon DSL.

When I came back to check, all the pictures I sent are gone.

Do they expire after a certain time?

Nope. I can still see them. Maybe it's a sign-in glitch with the DSL? Check your setting in your account.
