I was surfing around to see what others have used for a front strut bar that could fit in a '98 with an AEM cai and came up with this:

The description is a FET Sports front tower bar. I have tried doing research on it and found nothing. If anyone has any info on this product please reply. Thanks.

FET Strut braces were made by Far East Trading. It seems that these are no longer in production.

I use CUSCO OS (Oval-Shaft) for my '98 RD1. They are probably the most common.

How did you setup the cruise control box and cable on the right side of the engine bay?? Cuz it seems that it's in the way of the strut bolts on the right side. Hesitant on buying until I get a confirmation on ease of install.
Thanks

You might try a 92-95 Civic front strut bar. Just check out eBay for the right strut mount pattern. It will probably fit without modification because of the older 1G intake manifold configuration. I had to make some different mounts to fit over the 2000 manifold but it turned out fine.

Unfortunately, mine did not have cruise-control. I drive the Australian/RHD version. With mine, I had to loosen up the Aircon pipe and nudge it in.
By the way, for the rear, I used CUSCO OS(Oval-Shaft) 377541A. You will need to take the cover, slice the plastic base off to install though. I'm not too sure whether it's the same with the US/LHD models.

I had to remove the cruise control to install the brackets, but then bolted it back together afterwards. There wasn't any interferance problems. The c/c brackets bend pretty easily if you need some minor tweaking.

Qool and cwt53--
Thanks for the info on the CUSCO strut bar. As for the difference in Australian and US markets, there really isn't much. The rear has no difference whatsoever. As for the c/c box and cable, I am more confident about purchasing the bars without those things interfering. Consider it my annual summer upgrade project: this year strut bars! Thanks guys.
If any of you 1st gen CRV owners want to purchase CUSCO bars and haven't found a place with good deals, I have come across a site that offers bars for $130.95 each. Located in Arizona so outside of that state is tax free (and about $18 shipping= subtotal about $148). It is:
www.wotm.com (wide-open throttle motorsports)
it is under yahoo shopping, so I believe it's secure and legit. Email the guy about the application and he can get it in about 6 weeks (special order from Japan). So when I have saved enough money, I will be contacting that place (unless somebody posts another place that has a better deal than what I have found).

esteebin & cw53 thanks for posting this info. I didn't even know anyone made a rear strut bar. I have a 2000 v ex with a neuspeed front strut bar now I can match the rear. Are there any other places that sell cusco or any other rear strut bar? thanks again guys I LOVE THIS WEB SITE!!!!!!

If you want to further upgrade the suspension, they also make a lower arm bar...type I not type II(CUSCO). They around $80 in:
www.heeltoeauto.com
Again, inquire the guys there for more info. But if there's a better bargain, I would like to know about it too.
I also emphasize researching about this cuz at some point, it just becomes dress-up and no longer upgrade.
Good luck.
