Quick question. Is the frame part of the mesh grill, is it custom or from the original front grill?

Quick question. Is the frame part of the mesh grill, is it custom or from the original front grill?

The frame is from the marketplace. It is the honeycomb grill that has been modified.

can the stock grille be modified like the honeycomb grill?
Mind if I ask what kind of mesh grill you use and where you got them?

I don't mean to sound like an ass but did u buy that V off the showroom floor? Because u did so much exotic work in/on it. I took off my door panels and did some sound proofing and already I can tell the Difference. BUT its a lot of work and its my only mode of transportation so it had to be taken apart and put back together in in 4hrs. I did the back Rear door, the back panels and the back doors on Saturday then i had to stop to take my 2yr old to a birthday party. Then i did the 2 front doors on Sunday. So what is the advantage of lining the Hood. Does it stop engine noise from coming into the cabin? and 2, I have a 2001 SE how do i take the roof liner down to sound dampen it WITH MINIMAL WORK? Can i just pry back the panels a little near the headliner to get access? i really dont want to break anything.

Yes in theory. No in cost effectiveness.

Speed grill from Street Scene. I got it from my friend who had an extra grill laying around. It is made for another vehicle.

Yeah bought it just like it is.

sound deadening requires taking apart the vehicle there is no short cut. The car drives with interior or without. I haven't seen my door panels in 2 months. To get a headliner out you need to take apart most of the interior panels. It is easier to pull the carpet than the headliner.

Hood liner is mostly for heat but does block a little sound

thx k24. that would iritate the crap out of me- not having my door panels in. I can't drive my V like that for 1 day much less 2 mths. I will be taking my head liner out though, but when I have enough time to take it out and put it back in before driving it. And by saying that the hood liner blocks a little sound, would you say 30% or 3% blockage. And again thanks for your prompt response. you have really helped a lot of guys out on this site. I personally have saved a crap load of money by doing things myself from info on this web site thanks to guys like you. I Took My V into Service @ my local honda shop and he told me it was the nicest V he has ever seen in his shop.

Where do old custom cars go? When you decide to move onto your next big project, how is the money recovered from this one?

Just curious, because you don't see these cars that often and I'd think the market for them 'used' must be pretty slim.....

Looking sweet though.

you never get the money back from these projects. But thats not the point... when I was in the car modifying game, some of the cost is helped by sponsors and prizes but most is from your own hard earned cash.

its an expensive hobby but one that does bring much satisfication.

I do have to say you have the most pimp ride on the site, basically the baddest V in the world (besides mine) and look at the difference in your middle picture of the door panels compared to the custom ones, sir you are one heck of a modder.....PS how many magazines have you been in??

hey k24 y no tint?

k24 rd6

Tint= Harassment. If you drive a high profile car with tinted windows it gets expensive. I would rather put that $200 a month into something else

AnuCrv
06-05-2004, 04:55 PM
$200 a month? u just confusef me. I only spent $120 @ tintmasters one time

k24 rd6
06-05-2004, 05:24 PM
$200 is about what it averages for the monthly tickets you get when you have tinted windows in So Cal. Not to mention the threats of impounding you car from officers repeatedly harassing you because you have not removed the tint from the ticket they wrote you last week. Also when being pulled over with tinted windows, I have noticed officers seem to like to have their guns out and ready.

Horrible color, i'm sorry to say. Decent mods, but why try to pimp a v as if it were an escalade? I dont see the point in drooping 25k into a v when you could afford an x-5. Just my opinion of course. And the tint thing, is b.s. i had my 03 trailblazer with 23's in so cal for 3 months and never got a ticket with 5% all around and out of state plates. Good story though, I am sure you entertained alot of people on this site.

Nice drive-by you troll.

I'm sure your scathing review has suddenly thrust you into the respected eyes of many here. I mean, since YOU never had a problem and you ARE a noted expert on the topic..........

....furthermore, why 'pimp' anything? OOOOH, leeme dump 40-50K into just GETTING an Escalade, and THEN 'pimp' that out since its still obviously a piece of trash. If we want to talk about pissing money away, lets talk some more about your wise investment in a "Trailblazer".
