OK I've been absent for some time I crossed over to the dark side 03 Jeep Grand Cherokee OH NO......................

OK OK I know I should have never got rid of my CRV but had to keep the wife happy. She thought the ride was rough and I have to agree with her and the seat where hard as a rock. Anyone who's married knows what I'm talking about.

I want to get rid of the gas guzzling W@#$E. I know all about Honda fit and trim..... and quality but can some one PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give me an honest answer about gas mileage. Before any says it..... I know I'm buying an SUV and if I wanted fuel economy I would buy a SMART CAR.

Also, how about ride comfort as compared to a CRV?

I found some data here: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/ You can find the EPA estimates as well as milage reported by owners.

Looks like for 2004 and 2005, the dozen or so people who reported milage were getting 17.5 MPG for the 4WD. Consumer reports was also saying 17 mpg overall. For 2006, there is only one reported number of 20.5 mpg.. but who knows the conditions that that number was obtained (all highway? at sea level? flat terrain? etc)

I'd say 17 is a safe estimate.

BTW - I just noticed that with the current $2k incentive from Honda, the Pilot price is down around the Rav4 prices. A Rav4 4WD V6 Ltd, equipped with the same options as a Pilot EX 4WD, looks like it costs around $600 more than the Pilot. It does get better milage so it may be worth considering... if you can find one.

Like most said, city driving is around 17mpg. Highway 22 if you're lucky!

The Honda Fit owners are very happy. See their real-world mileage here.

Ditto.

I cant compare ride or comfort as I've never driven a CRV, but the Pilot was verrrrrry nice this last weekend on a 5 hour trip
