:?: I have a Cabana and wonder if installing an Air Deflector will interfere with using the Cabana. i.e. Will the Air Deflector lift of the Cabana so bugs and ran gets in. I cannot find where Honda states the Air Defector and the Cabana are mutually exclusive.

I'm looking to get the cabana. From the pics I've seen of both although not installed together, it seems that the deflector would be a small "bump" like you mentioned. I think the cabana extends past the deflector enough, towards the front of the E. The cabana doesn't seal tight around the E. I think there is enough play to install over the bump of the deflector. I think it sort of sits around the tailgate opening and gets held in place. The edge of the cabana is far enough away from the tailgate opening that I think bugs would not bother flying around under the cabana and into the tailgate opening. I'm not sure about ants and things that walk on the ground in a parked E with food aroud though.

Might be a silly question, but what is the cabana for? I've looked at the pix and it seems to be a sorta tent..but not!

I think there are three uses for it. The first is since it is usually called a cabana, you raise the front flap up to create an awning using the optional tent poles/stakes to keep the flap at the right height. I was going to see if there are other poles available since $50 is probably overpriced for Honda OEM tent poles. If you kept the same front flap hanging down you would be able to sit on the tailgate and get dressed or changed say into your running outfit or bathing suit for the beach. I'm still looking into that. It seems the cabana has to be installed below the tailgate in order for that to work. I had installed mine in heavy wind and had a lot of trouble getting it installed by myself. The third is that you zip closed that same flap and the entire rear end of the E is a tent. It is good for keeping the bugs out and probably light rain. There is a screen window on that flap with a its own flap for privacy. If you have an EX you would be able to use the skylight and the window on the tent for ventalation. I think it is one of those things that is good to have, not something you would use everyday. If you do use your E for picnics or camping it is good. I plan to use it more often for changing at the beach or amusement park or jogging. The Market place here has a great price on it.
