Hehe, in summer I wash him every week.
In the winter, almost every day :p Except when i'm not home in the evening.
Yesterday, I gave him a wash 2 times (because it was raining and very filthy on the street) And i had to do some travelling, and I hate it when there is filth on my car. So, that's why I washed him so much ;-) I'm not sick or something :p I just love him :p

I'm a handwash in the summer and an occasional jetwash in the winter sort of bloke .... mine gets polished about 12 times over the summer so that i can neglect it until the following year ;)
It's worked so far, under all the filth and dirt there lies pristine paintwork - shame i can't say the same about the owner :d
Napoline
12-15-2005, 08:45 AM
lol :p
I do always a handwash with polish product in it. I only do a chassiswash after the winter :-)
But i do alot of kilometers in one day. And when the weather is filthy i can't leave my car under the dirt (and with dirt, IT IS dirt then :p maybe i'll take pic when he is dirty :p ) To show that i'm not overreacting, hehe ;-)
When i get home, i'll put some more pics of the car

This time Andy, i was actually being genuine ... hadn't worked out that Napoline was a lady ( well female ... hehehe) 8) - time will tell ;)
I should have guessed as *line is usually only at the end of a female name - having a blonde day today it seems!

Well it seems i need a good old slap around the head, i didn't realise you were female - good job i've had my polite head on =8*)
I'm afraid my car is no cleaner than Andys at the moment, i do about 400 miles each weekend up and down the motorway here and the car suffers. I have some special kanuba wax that I apply with a polishing wheel that contains a mild cutting agent as well, takes "bloom" off the paint and leaves a nice hardshell finish behind.
After a long drive in the summer, you can just gently brush all the flies off it :)
goraiko
12-16-2005, 01:02 PM
Pat I think you drive as meny miles as me in a week.
Well I suppose we have to keep gordon brown happy with all the petrol tax we pay.
I don't know about the cleanliness of yours Pat but I heard a rumout the other day that I had a silver car and not a grey black one.
I quickly corrected the fool when I showed them my car. I can safely say that I can only see through the wiper sweeps on the front and the back windows of the V. I only cleaned it last weekend.
PatrickDorrian
12-16-2005, 01:14 PM
I bought mine in september 2003 with 22,000 miles on the clock, i've just turned 70,000 miles now. Apart from a few small stone marks, it's in bloody good nick :)
Not bad at all for 20,000 miles a year, and it's all HARD driving too :)
goraiko
12-16-2005, 01:21 PM
I got mine about 2 months ago with about 57000 on the clock, it's now got 61000.
PatrickDorrian
12-16-2005, 01:26 PM
But isn't it a scream to drive ;) I have barely noticed the miles going on mine, i don't really begrudge it the fuel economy either - the grin factor for so little horsepower is amazing - and as for handling, i still laugh when i drive it like a large gokart.
And this is why i don't want to sell it really, even for a skylard .... and i bet the fuel economy is about the same too.
I love my honda :)
goraiko
12-16-2005, 01:36 PM
I know what you mean. Even with stupid off road tyres it's still damn good fun to drive. Infact the only cars which I think I've enjoyed more are the mx5, ginetta (when it worked), and the crx. Or maybe me old landrover when it was being used off-road.
Pat IMHO the only sky lard worth getting if you don't get a gtr (horrendous running costs), is the gt turbo. It's got enough power to cope with the weight of the thing. But then you're not going to get much more than 20 mpg or maybe 25 if you're going really steady. But where's the fun in that?
PatrickDorrian
12-16-2005, 02:17 PM
I can see the logic ... i know i'd have more fun with a 2.5 turbo ... but i do like the hrv too. I might just get the rings done and drive it a bit longer, got some more soundproofing to do next year and wouldn't mind changing the wheels for a 17" to get the price of tyres down a bit.
Ultimately, it's going to be a Tdi engine at some point .... just not sure what make or model of car i'll have it in. Have you seen that new vauxhall offroader yet?
Napoline
12-17-2005, 04:28 AM
pssst guys :p
My answer:
For me, it's my first official car. But i drive others too ;-) I have the car of my parents (first a Volvo, and now HOnda Civic). The car of my grandmother i drive (Volkswagon Golf) And then some cars at my work. Ford, citroen....
So i know that my car is the best car I ever drove!!
PatrickDorrian
12-17-2005, 04:36 AM
For what the HRV is ... it's great fun anywhere you drive it :) I have only one wish and that is for a 6th gear, i find the engine a little noisy at motorway speeds, would be nice if it was doing 3000rpm at 80mph not 4000rpm.
Other than that ... i still love it!
goraiko
12-17-2005, 05:16 AM
Yeah I know what you mean.
Napoline
12-17-2005, 05:20 AM
yes, that's true. Have that problem too. But it's a dream to drive and park it and to turn around :D
PatrickDorrian
12-17-2005, 05:25 AM
That's the biggest problem the HRV has given me, what to buy next ....

PatrickDorrian
12-20-2005, 11:49 AM
I drove one for the first time back in about 1991, it was a G reg 1.6 basic model - complete and utter hoot in the damp and one of the nicest cars i've ever driven, the handling is sooo neutral but you can really get things playfully out of shape and it doesn't bite you back

Another update:
I have blue lights in it now. But it's not real Xenon, so it has just a blue shine in the dark, it's not blue blue. :D
I went today to the shop (for the lights) and that mechanic told me it were H4 lights. I said: NO NO NO. He probably thought, another stupid girl :P
But at the end he had to say that I was right, HAHA :D
This afternoon i changed the 501 lights myself in the front.

12-22-2005, 08:52 AM

Napoline
12-22-2005, 09:55 AM
Well, i started with brutal force. I almost unplugged everything :P But then u told me I had to turn the lights, and that went much better :D
PatrickDorrian
12-22-2005, 09:57 AM
Almost like they came out as intended ;) If you'd forced them out it might have cost you a new headlight lol ... they're about 100 pounds each hehe - money better spent on H.I.D kits - if they're legal in Belgium?
