No idea then

But please tell me why you used the red-eye reduction flash mode on your Fuji Finepix S304 to take this picture.

Ummm......I...Ummm  forgot to switch it off, I guess.

The light bar is from a freelander. I've test fitted it and it lines up perfectly fine. Should get it fitted this week.

Have you checked if the mount hole for the front towing hook is still accessible?

It should be fine (quickly checks). It's only a few cm's wider than the number plate surround.

Bring on the snow, mud, whatever... I'm ready for it.

Only a very small amount of rubbing on full lock and only in reverse :?: . But I'm getting some spacers which should help to cure that.

They're a bit noisy too. I'd forgotten what A/T tyres were like. I think they'll quieten down a bit with some use. I'll have to see how they cope off road as well.

Last picture is of my Richard Burns Charity sticker.

Hopefully get the light bar on this weekend too.

Wow!

I always wanted to fit A/T (or M/T) tires like that to my HR-V, but they are not available in the right size and getting homologation for other sizes is very expensive, if not impossible in Germany.

Btw. I don't expect these tires to be very good in snow. What you'd need there is a lot of fine and deep tread grooves (and not the coarse tread blocks of M/T tires). In snowy conditions my HR-V with winter tires regularly outperforms my friend's Feroza with M/Ts.

Andy,

What's it like on the road in terms of handling with those on <VBG>

Hi Pat and thanks for the comments mrphoo.

Right road driving, um er, not done too much high speed stuff with them yet but so far they seem ok. Better than I expected. As I said they are quite noisy, but this is mainly due to the size and spread of the block patterns.

mrphoo they are based on the old BFGoodrich all-terrain pattern (which always was rated for snow use) and do have lots of fine grooves on them too. So hopefully should be ok in the snow (if we get any). They are 215/75R15, but can be got in a full range of sizes, otherwise depending on how strict the rules are in germany you could try general A/T2's as these have very good reviews and is what I nearly got. It was only the fact these were over £100 cheaper for the set of 4 fitted that swayed it for me. All in they cost £180 fitted and the wheels were a bargain from honda for £35 for 4. I'll go and take a better picture of them as it's light still.

You mean the cloud from Hemel Hempstead hasn't yet arrived?

Nah the wind's blowing it in the other direction.

I'm north east of it (and about 100 miles away). We only tend to get stuff from chernobyl (sp).

They are 215/75R15, ...
Cool.

How's the acceleration from a standing start?

Screwed.

Well not that bad but noticably not quite as quick as it was. Nor noticable when coming out of roundabouts or corners as you can't carry as much speed through the bend.

Right well after an hour of laying on my back grunting and groaning and twisting my limbs into strange directions. I've finally fitted me light bar. I'm quite pleased with the results too.

i like the look of that bar, what have you bolted it too?????? what sort of lights have you got planned to go on there??????

Hi mate. It's bolted to the metal bumper under the plastic one. As for lights haven't really decided what to get as long as they're round. Probably not go for much bigger that 6inch lights though.

ive got a gen 2 hrv but i expect that the metal bumper bar is still in the same place on the two versions of the v, i take it you had to drill it out to accept the mounting points?? did you have to remove the outer plastic bumper to gain access?

best colour you got there though ( mines silver too ...lol)

Mounts fit under neath as well as the front. So no bumber removal needed. I've fitted it on one of the underneath ones and the front mounts. Problem with the front mounts is that it has to go through the bumper.

Thanks mate. It was lucky. I got it from a local independant landrover specialist. They'd had it there for a while hence why I got it half price.
