Knocking noise from engine

My wife just got a 2006 2WD Pilot EX, it has about 2500 miles on it. I have noticed a knocking noise coming from the engine area when you take off from a stop quickly or put a strain on the engine. I don't notice it much on the hwy. My gut tells me it is either a rod knocking, which seems unlikely, or possibly an engine mount letting the engine move too much. Is this normal for the VCM engine. I have a 2004 Pilot and it has the NON VCM engine and doesn't do this.

Any help would be appreciated.

update. I put the car in the shop. The service writer drove it with me and said that it didn't sound normal and that it needed to be investigated. They kept it for one whole day. Called me and told me it was normal. They said a new one did the same thing. I have a hard time believing that a Honda would knock in this way. If you put a load against the engine, like stop on a steep hill and then take off fairly quickly the engine will knock like rods knocking.

Anyone have a 2006 2WD, that doesn't make this noise?
