Sure is.

Do you get a lot of wheel spin or does it have a fairly good grip?

honda_hr-v
03-02-2004, 02:14 PM
yeah sometimes, dependin on how im like on the clutch etc but otherwise the car has pretty good control on corners etc at higher speeds.wots it like with the 4wd?

Dave :)

HRV-BEN-UK
03-03-2004, 07:23 AM
Like a go kart, it handles the corners really well at speed. At the lights you get a whisper of wheel spin until the rears engage and then off light a shot. In the wet is when the car performs at it's best, highly recommend the 4wd's.

I can believe that but they look so much different and more individual than the CRV. Like you said typical none honda drivers.

The HRV runs a quasi-4WD driveline that uses a magnetic coupling to engage the rear wheels when slip is detected through the front wheels. i thought that intended part-time 4WD, i got that from Auto salon Magazine Issue 5, they were saying if u put a more powerful engine in the HRV that the coupling, drive shafts and rear diff wont hold the increased power.

WOW! what a lovely car (HR-V)..........any chance of knowing where you got the privacy glass and the price.

Hey Mike

Privacy glass im guessing is tindet wnidows, well if you want to laser them which is the best way to tint them, its about £190 the behind 3 windows, (back and 2 sides), the entire car, must be double. If you want stick on its way cheaper but not such good quality, it comes off in time, most probably faster in UK cause of the sudden weather change.

honda_hr-v
05-24-2004, 01:54 AM
hey mike,my tinting for my hr-v cost 180 for all the windows done in the darkest tint aka limo black.i have a tinted window sunstrip which cost 40 with the joy machine logo and honda logos on.a place called sign-a-rama did my windows www.sign-a-rama.co.uk i think is there website, otherwise its .com, here are my latest pics of my audio with new subs and speakers

Hey

A mix of JBL and Pioneer, ive never seen it, but it sure sounds good, I like the 4 speakers in the back I like the idea, but I think you can work on it and make it look even nicer. I'm currently designing my V's back, to fit 4 Sound stream Edge series woofers, with 2 amps one digital amp for the woofers and one for the speakers. Its gonna be run by a PC with a 4.1 output soundcard and a crossover/equalizer to output as much power as the system can handle, I'm still a bit rusty on how im going to setup the PC but I see it coming with a touch screen upfront. I’m also thinking on adding 2 sets of speakers and a screen on the back trunk door. the red blocks are out of proportion but its just to give an idea.

honda_hr-v
05-25-2004, 11:09 AM
those jbl speakers have gone,i have 4 rockford fosgate 6x9's now, just need a new pic.i have also considered a screen on the back of the boot door(leading to wear the bulbs are for the numberplate),your plans sound really good,i have four amplifiers,2 digital mono 2 run the subs (1 each sub) and one 4 channel running the 4 back speakers & one 2 channel running the front speakers,it sounds fantastic and can go extremly loud. more pictures 2 come this weekend when new wiring and roof screen are installed :D

Sweet ride, wish i lived in an area where i could have my hifi on show ;)

saro
05-26-2004, 05:29 AM
Hey

I also noticed a screen at the front where the CDplayer goes, how many inches is it and what u run on it?

Hey patrick

why is it so hard to show your HiFi?

PatrickDorrian
05-26-2004, 10:56 AM
Cos if i left all that gear on display where i live, some theiving gipsy would have the windows out and the whole lot would be gone. Sadly i don't have the luxury of a garage or off street parking. Stealth install remains my best defence in this matter, it also means i only play it loud when i'm driving up and down motorways. I NEVER play it loud around where i live.

hattus
05-26-2004, 11:55 AM
thats a damn shame patrick....why dont you give the car to me and I will look after it for you (he says rubbing his hands together in glee)

Mind you its so posh where I live that people break into your house and decorate for you lol.

Seriously though its a shame you cant enjoy your hard work without the threat of someone ruining it.

Mike 8)

Not HR-V of the month June 2004

mrtn
05-26-2004, 11:59 AM
hattus, why don't you write an article about your ride and it might just be the HR-V of June 2004 :)

hattus
05-26-2004, 12:51 PM
Nah....I wouldnt know where to start to be honest....and there are far more deserving HR-V's out there.

But thanks for the suggestion.....perhaps when I have done a few mods then I will.

Cheers.

Mike :D

Hey

ive been contacted and offered car of the month june 2004.

HRV-BEN-UK
05-26-2004, 07:09 PM
Give it a go mate and it doesn't have to be modded to be different than everyone elses just some history where you bought it from and what plans you have for the future. Pics are important of course.

hattus
05-27-2004, 02:37 AM
Well done m8.....I have seen your pics and it looks pretty cool (as well as pretty dirty lol)

Perhaps I will give it a try.........where do I start then?

Mike

saro
05-27-2004, 03:22 AM
Thanks, well yep it is dirty, I like the car dirty :-)

Why don't you start with the history of the car, where u got it from, why, from what other cars u chose the HR-V, you can later say what extras the HR-V has, rims, filter stuff like that, and talk about the HR-V hows the drive, how u like it, impressions, stuff like that. About the pics, I think its good to take some pics from every angle of the car outside and inside, I took more than 300+ pics and I had to choose 10!

hattus
05-27-2004, 04:21 AM
Ok cool...do I post that all here or somewhere else...by the way the car looks good dirty.

hey sorry for the late reply,i havent recieved any emails saying thats theres be messages left in this convo :? yeah its a veba 7inch tft monitor used for my playstation 2,but i have now moved it 2 my parcel shelf as i now have a roof mount 7 inch screen.im using a sony mex-5di cd player which cost me £1000,but worth every penny :D just trying 2 get hold off a backbox now, the hr-v has an akward (think ive spelt it wrong) exhaust system, but ive been lookin at a company called magnex (biggish company over in uk) as they have relased some very nice universal backbox's,more pics 2 come as soon as ive got my digital camera workin :?

Ouch that hurt! I've just stopped laughing.

Man! that must look ridiculous....

Bloke sat behind car with computer screen, pretending to drive car......With car noises coming out of big speakers.

A bit like... Bloke sat in his plane playing flight simulator.
Or...Bloke on golf course playing golf on laptop.

Or is it really just because there is no fun to be had driving in the UK anymore.

I'm not saying your set-up is ridiculous, just the thought of you sitting behind the car playing a car game.

BTW. Nice job on the install.

I install sound systems for a living, but my car system is a bit of a lash up to put it mildly.

honda_hr-v
08-21-2004, 12:48 PM
lol i see your point but i dont play it whilst im driving only whilst parked up out with mates, but id only have my mates outside playing it near the boot at shows as it pulls alot of public to the car,i mean come on its not asif hr-v's are common show cars to your every day citroen saxos, ford focus's and even nowa days the common new type r civic.thanks for your comments tho

Dick_Dastardly
08-21-2004, 02:43 PM
I guess one reason the HR-V isnt a common show car is that there aint that much you can do to it in terms of exterior re-styling. Hondas design was so wild in the first place that it just looks ace streight out of the box. (the civic yeaah, what a boring looking car, that's an easy improvement)

Rather reminds me of an embarrasing moment I had outside Halfords.

Walked out to be greeted with some ghastly looking ex-corsa covered in fiberglass bits, and some great roof spoiler on the back.
Said smugly to my mate, "what ever posesses somebody to stick a whacking great spoiler on the roof of their car" Mate points at my car, and says "yeaah with lights in it".........DOH!
