welcome, first of all i'd buy an armrest, makes a world of difference to driving comfort, take it you have a gen 1 hrv as gen 2 have 16'' alloys on as standard...
Welcome Missy&all!
If you are likely to do anything resembling off-road then I would say stick to 16's. Get 205/60-16 or 215/55-16 tires depending on your pocket.
If you are not a "Camel Girl", then 17's look better (a bit more bling). The tire guys will be able to advise you of the equvalent tire sizes etc.
Do yourself a favour, get the guy to write down the size of the rim, width, off-set, and the size of the tires he wants to supply you, and let us know here. The guys have a lot of experience with this sort of thing.
There are guys here that will tell you to go 18's and preferably bigger, but as you go bigger, you are losing ride quality, to gain handling 'sharpness' that is ahead of the suspension's ability. On dry tarmac the HRV does not understeer, it rolls over. Don't get me wrong, I love my HRV, and I drive as hard as anybody here, but some like to think of their HRV's as a sports car. It's a lovely car, and I give plenty people frights at the lights and even in corners, but if you wanted a sports car you bought the wrong car. Quick sanity test: find a mate with a CRX, drive it round the block - you'll know what I mean.
***Rant ends***
Make the pic smaller with photochop, of MS Picture Manager, then you should be able to post it. Otherwise eMail it to me and I'll do it...
Welcome once again...

Welcome too :)
That crx is a right cranky sod - of course an HRV handles like a sports car, which of course is a total lie. What is true is that the HRV outhandles other 4x4s, quite a few "warm" saloons and will give an average hot hatch a good run for its money.
As a rule of thumb you need to ensure that the rolling radiius of your wheel does not increase overall. Otherwise your speedo will be innaccurate.

Go here and put your original size in which will be on the side of the tyre. You can then input the new size and see which gives closest to zero difference. That makes it a bit easier to see what size tyre and what profile you need.
Personally i'd not fit larger than 18" because at that point you lose the ability to crash over kerbs and other such things.
225/50 * 17 would sharpen the handling, look better and still retain nearly the corect speed rating. Put the numbers in and see for yourself.
In the meantime, welcome to the forums and congratulations on making a smart purchase :-)
Cheers,
Patrick

Hey this sites cool etc http://www.creatingonline.com/online_image_editor/index.html
Thanks I'll have to bookmark it.
Yeah most people have sugested 17" and I'm thinking off a 5 spoke style, I saw some really nice black ones with a little bit of silver on each spoke but need to confirm I can get the tyres to fit etc.. also depends on price too... I know it'll be cheaper to stick to original 15" tyres just buy alloy... but this car deserves that special touch
@ CRX yep I'm feelin a bit of bling
Richhrv where do I get an armrest? the dealers? What would the damage be?
Thanks for that info & url PatrickDorrian I'll check my tyres on my lunch break

Hi Miss,
Welcome to the Forum :D
You should be able to purchase the armrest from any main stealership (it will take a while for them to locate one,if at all as they arent made anymore) or do what I do and trawl ebay everyday for HRV stuff.
Nice 'V' by the way 8)

They'd go straight on but if you go for 16" wheels you pay a fortune for tyres. Better to see if you can get a set of 17" wheels then you can get cheaper tyres.
But yes they'd go and they look in nice condition
