Nice car, it looks good.:)

Can you tell us more about the Nudge Bar (or A Bar) you have fitted?
I've seen them at http://www.4x4x4.com/accessories/hrv_accessories1.htm and was wondering if you could provide more information than is listed on their website?

a question to facelifted HR-V owners: are you allowed to have an A-bar or any front bars at all? here you can't have them if the car or a truck does not have a permanent 4x4 to prevent every SUV to have one. this is because of the pedestrians of course. our local honda importer somehow managed to get the 1st gen HR-V into registry under the real 4x4 category but it was reviewed for the newer model and how it's a regular passenger car starting from 2002. i want to have a bar to carry a pair of spotlights myself.

I'm sure they are banned here in the UK but looks a lot better 'off' the car than 'on' but that's my opinion. Bull bars are not liked here as they cause so much injury if you hit a pedistrian however opinions may be different in Germany.

Nice car thou, thanks for posting the pic.

olla!
until today in germany it is allowed to have an a-bar/bar unless it is certified for the type of car :!:
even you can get it e.g. for renault kangoo, espace and many other cars which are no 4x4.

but there are quite a lof of discussions at the european union parlament regarding the dangers caused by front bars.
obviously the politicians are going to announce a law in 2005 to prohibit nearly all that stuff. if so the law will include some strict regulations that only allow bars which are crash tested. and the requirements to get an official certificate for the manufacturers will be very hard to fulfill.
but any car which is equipped with a bar already is allowed to keep it for the lifetime of the car.

these are the latest information of the off-road-magazine 4WHEEL in germany.

jo :)

hi,
in germany we have several providers for a-bars/bars. here are some links:
www.delta4x4.com
www.delta4x4.com/zubehor/index.html (for HR-V)
www.jh-offroad.de
and check www.hr-v.de (an owners homepage)

the one I fitted was manufactured for COBRA (but I have no URL)
price: 370 EUR incl. tax
assembling it: 68 EUR incl. tax
technical inspection agency costs: 44 EUR incl. tax (certification)

hope that helps

regards
jo
