AIM: For this topic to become the central HRV tyre database for All Terrain and Mud Terrain tyres.

What ALL TERRAIN/MUD TERRAIN tyres have you used on your HRV?

Brand

Why did you choose this A/T / M/T tyre/size/pressure?
General observations regarding this tyre?
How would you rate these tyres?

Brand: Bridgestone Duellers A/T
Model: 194 (aka 'Revo' in the US)
Size: 205/70-15
PSI: 36

After quite a bit of research I narrowed it down to either the Bridgestone 194 or the Goodyear ATR. After reading the customer revues at http://www.1010tires.com/ , I came to the conclusion the Bridgestone 194 (Revo) where slightly better than the Goodyear ATR (problems with tyres going out of round/chipping/etc). I chose the 205/70-15 size for two reasons: 1. Its the same size as our CRV, so if required we can use each vehicles tyres/wheels as spares. 2. I didn't want to go any bigger as in the 'Wet season' we have a lot of rain and I don't want the vehicle to 'float', either on a very wet road or when crossing a floodway. Pressure is currently set at 36 PSI, at 38 PSI there was too much slippage on the bituman road.

Observations to date.
Pros: A/T tyres handle dirt roads, pot holes and road corrigations much better than road tyres. Hardly feel the pot holes or corrigations. :D
Cons: A/T tyres are not as grippy on bituman road as road tyres. I've had to slow down on my occasional enthusiastic cornering.
Other: Note. these A/T tyres are NOT Mud tyres. They do handle better than road tyres on muddy dirt roads, but they are not Mud Terrains.

How do I rate these tyres? I believe these 80% road/20% off-road tyres do what they claim. Compared to a road tyre they are much better/safer off-road, however, traction is slightly worse on road and one must drive accordingly.

Would I buy them again? Have not had them long enough to answer this question.

Brand: Colway
Model: A/T remolds
Size: 205/75-15
PSI: 32

Based on the previous generation BFG A/T tyre. They have very good self cleaning properties. Probably abit more aggressive than some of the others availiable and rated at 50/50 split between road and off road. Performed really well in recent snows. And for a remold tyre they were really good value at less than £50 per corner fitted. Pros and cons as per above really.

Would I buy them again, well that all depends on how they last. If not I'll probably go for general grabber A/T2's.
